June 3, 1998	The Board of Supervisors adopts the Rio Linda and Elverta Community Plan, which identifies an urban development area in eastern Elverta.
February 1999	The Board of Supervisors appoints 11 citizens to the Elverta Specific Plan Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).
March-May 1999	The CAC members and members of the public meet five times to help develop the land use plan.
Late 1999 through early 2000	Four CAC meetings held to formulate neighborhood design principles and guidelines and review Specific Plan text.
2000	Concept Land Use Plan Approved.
March 2003	Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) released for public comment and review.
2004	The Policy Planning Commission conceptually approves the plan; County staff starts work to revise and re-circulate the Draft EIR.
2004	Affordable Housing Ordinance Approved.
2006	Revised DEIR released for public comment and review.
2006	Sacramento County Planning Commission approves the Elverta Specific Plan and forwards the Specific Plan and EIR to Board of Supervisors for action.
2007	Board of Supervisors approve Elverta Specific Plan unanimously.
Expected 2008-2009	Tentative maps and infrastructure design to begin.
Expected 2010	Major backbone infrastructure construction to begin.
